Summer arrives

It was a quick transition to summer as the temperature last week climbed to near 90 for most of the week.  The garden is thriving on the ample rain in April and warm weather. These asian lily's are just beautiful this year.
The pantaloon campanula is not as heavy in bloom as in past years.
Trailing verbena always looks good and is easy to keep in control though it does like to creep.
An interesting shrub in bloom this week is winterthur viburnum. It has a nice bloom, shiny leaves all summer. and berries that change color in the fall.

The rose of the week is Saint Patrick. This rose is three years old and the bloom quality is improving each year. The first year it was a disappointment but this year it is just covered with these large blooms.
This weeks cut flowers and an arrangement.
