Summer flowers

The heat wave has been broken the last three evenings with strong thunderstorms. The heat has returned the following day but I gives thanks for the 2+ inches of rain. The only flowers that have been affected by the heat are the gardenias. They seem to melt like butter as they open in the heat. The zinnias and calla lilies are spectacular this year.
Prairie Sun and Stokesia flourishes in the heat too.
I thought I needed to post a picture of the bleeding hearts since I'm sure they will be going dormant soon.
Hydrangeas continue to bloom--here's a couple more.
Though the gardenia blossoms are wilting the fragrance fills the humid evening air.
And lastly cut flowers for church floral arrangements.
