Garden Flowers Everywhere

My garden is alive with color. It almost seems that Mother Nature is screaming spring is here--right now. Early spring days are cool and nothing is rushed yet so it is easy to linger and enjoy the beauty of these blooms. I don't believe I've ever captured a Star Magnolia bloom as pretty as this. (Double click to enlarge any picture)
The yellow magnolia is just starting to open--next week it will be the star.
Blooming about a week earlier than usual is Forsythia. I brought rooted cuttings from an old bush with me when we moved to this house over 25 years ago. Last year I cut this back severely since it was a messy thicket.
The most fragrant flower in my garden this week is Daphne. Not only is it beautiful but you can smell it 50 feet away.

The nodding blooms of Lenten Rose hide the beauty of this flower. So I gently pushed two over so I could capture what is hidden.
And lastly some landscape pictures of crocus and daffodils in my backyard.

  1. Love your Daphne. The yellow bloom on the magnolia is so unusual....most are in the white to pink range. Spring is here!!!
