Hot Summer Days

The weather has been hot and humid for the past 10 days but my garden seems to flourish.  Other than pulling a few weeds and watering this is the time to enjoy the simple beauty that Mother Nature provides.  The humid air is filled with the scent of blooming Gardenias.  I don't recall the variety of the first Gardenia blooms but the second one is 'Mystery'.

When the Zinnia's start to bloom it is a sure sign that summer is here.  I started these from seeds and are called 'Hot Crayon Colors'.

More of the Red and Yellow Hot Poker are in bloom now.

After I cut the flower stalk on the Foxglove they send up side flower stalks that are impressive too.

The first blooms of Monarda opened this week. This variety is mildew resistant.

This weeks church flowers.
